There are various classes in our Adult Ministry at Cooks Creek to choose from based on age and interest.
The Wired Word is a class for all ages that is casual and engaging. The group gathers to discuss how God's word relates to the events of the day and uses media to encourage discussion.
FaithLine is a class for the younger generation that believes that like a bloodline, sincere faith runs in the family. A love of God must be generational such as is mentioned in II Timothy 1:5; "I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also."
The Berean class is a supportive, encouraging group who works together to find effective ways to live Christian lives in the midst of an ever-changing culture. Thought provoking questions generate discussion without necessitating definitive answers. At the end of the hour we walk away friends - regardless of differing opinions! This class uses The Present Word curriculum.
Discipleship is a class that explores contemporary issues of society as those issues relate to the Bible and our Presbyterian faith. Various material is used and often chosen by the class as a whole.
The Sojourners class studies books of the Old and New Testaments as well as themes that connect the two. The deepening faith of class members is reflected in activities such as the sponsorship of a child with Compassion International, contributions to local needs, and both corporate and individual prayers for those struggling with life's difficulties.
Present and Future Hope
This Zoom-based study will explore the meaning of resurrection, the mission of Jesus, and what happens at “the end.” We will address questions like, “what happens when I die?” and “what will happen when Jesus returns?” using scripture as our guide. Sign-up to our email list at the bottom of this page to receive the Zoom link for our live sessions Wednesdays at 7:00pm or watch the recorded videos here.
