OPENING PRAYER

*RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP

There is joy and fulfillment in ministering to others in Jesus’s name;

Rejoice in the Lord always!

There is also tension and disagreement;

Yet, we are called to still rejoice in the Lord always!

We are sometimes less than perfect when dealing with conflict;

God encourages us to be gentle and honorable in times of strife and division, to see

God’s goodness within all circumstances, and to hope for reconciliation in our broken relationships. Even now, let us rejoice in the Lord always!

*HYMN OF PRAISE #452: Open the Eyes of My Heart

We Confess our Sins

*CALL TO CONFESSION

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION & SILENT PRAYER

Eternal God, in every age, you have raised up people to live and die in faith. We confess that we are, at times, indifferent to your will. You call us to proclaim and bear your name, but we are silent. You call us to live faithfully, but we are distracted. You call us to be peaceful with others, but we insist on having our own way. In your mercy, forgive us, and help us center our focus and actions on whatever is true, honorable, and just.  Amen.

(Silent Prayer)

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

The love of God is beyond measure, and you are included in that love. Friends, believe the Good News of Gospel:  In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
